Another series by Sheila Mccullagh, this one was I think dated from 1969ish and yet again was on a nautical topic.

Breakthrough Reading Scheme

I've finally found them..the very first books I had at primary school. It was the Breakthrough reading scheme. They were published in 1970 by Longman (and I am just relieved to have finally found out what they were!)

Wide Range Readers Series

Yet another book that triggers a distant memory, the publishing age is about right as well. These were common place in the early 70's in schools. Some of you may remember the characters Lok and Shan.

This Is The Way I Go

Another book that seems to ring a bell deep inside my mind. It was published in 1965 and was aimed at very young primary school age.

Monster Reading Scheme

The Monster reading scheme was popular in the late 1970s and 1980s. Written by Ellen Blance and Ann Cook, illustrated by Quentin Blake, published in 1979 by Longman Group Ltd.

Bangers and Mash

Alongside the Bangers and Mash reading books, they were also Bangers and mash workbooks. Doesn;t ring any bells for me, but I'm sure it does for someone out there!

The Gayway Series

These ring a bell as well, I'm sure I remember these at the age 6 or 7 level. It's amazing how many memories you can stir up doing this!

Ginn 360's Reading Scheme

Ginn 360 reading scheme, this scheme seemed to last for several school year, again very easy to remember from the brightly coloured covers.
