Breakthrough Reading Scheme
I've finally found them..the very first books I had at primary school. It was the Breakthrough reading scheme. They were published in 1970 by Longman (and I am just relieved to have finally found out what they were!)
I remember flash cards with words, but I was associating them with Roger Red Hat, but it's quite possible that they were in fact to do with these books instead.
Ah, breakthrough to literacy....did you have the folders with individual words to make sentences with?
