The Three Pirates and the Griffin

We then progressed onto the Three Pirates and the Griffin. These featured Benjamin the Blue Pirate, Roderick the Red and Gregory the Green. Again they were written by Shelia McCullagh. They also came with an audio tape and also large posters of each of the main characters.

My Early Reading Books

The first books I can remember reading were Shelia McCullagh's '1, 2 ,3 Away' series. Which featured Roger Redhat , Billy Bluehat and Johnny and Jennifer Yellowhat, who all lived in the village with three corners.

I'll Start the ball rolling.....

The idea of this site..and anyone can leave a comment here ...is to creat a database of school reading books that were in use in the 60's, 70's and 80's in primary schools anywhere in the world. I'm going to try and get lots of photos up here so that we can all jog our memories.

Why Did I Start This?

Well...mainly becuse upon surfing round the web there was nothing out there covering this topic. Yes ..I know you can order from Amazon....Or do a search with Brendon Books...but there's no where you can go and find pictures of these titles to jog your memory. Or discuss particularly these sort of books. So here it is......Enjoy!
